Hi hi hi hi
It’s Friday! Happy Friday! Ever since I gave birth to Reva 2+ years ago, I’ve wanted to talk about what it really looks like to become a mother. I’ve written about it quite a few times, like here, and here, but I wanted to talk about it with other moms and share the raw, real experience more broadly.
There are so many elements that I feel like are inadequately represented and/or shrouded in mystery and/or mind-blowingly bananas. I decided to start a podcast and talk with real women about what they experienced.
In this season, I’m going to interview a handful of friends about everything from running a business with a newborn to giving birth during COVID. The focus is on early motherhood, mostly being pregnant, birth, and the first year.
I’ve just released episode one, where I speak with Yana Kofman, of Kofman Wellness. Yana is a licensed mental health counselor, and she has tons of experience helping women postpartum. In this episode, we talk about what it’s really like to come home with a newborn. The joy, the anxiety, and everything in between.
If you want to listen, you’ll need to download the Callin app, which is a new social network for podcasting. It takes less than two minutes, I pinky promise. You can click here to download the app. I’m @janearielkatz, you can subscribe to me/the podcast for updates about new episodes, etc.
I hope you love it! I welcome any and all feedback (including ideas for conversations you’d like me to have, either with people or on certain topics) and I’m excited about this podcasting journey :)
Hugs,
Jane
